Your Teaching Style

Classrooms and schools are increasingly diverse in their student populations and instructional needs. Our flexible combination of online tools and activities meets the needs of virtually any classroom, either as whole-class instruction, extended student practice in small groups and lab settings, or student-centered exploration.

Whole Class InstructionWhole Class Instruction
Use our Teacher Tools to help your class develop mathematical proficiency with fractions. You will enjoy teaching with our interactive models; they provide an excellent anchor for meaningful dialogue. Your students will be engaged and pleased that fractions finally make sense. Our Teacher Tools are ideal for lesson openings, closings, and “math talks”; and they work perfectly with interactive whiteboards.

Student Practice
We provide over 400 carefully sequenced Student Activities that address all fractions topics. Students work at computers in sessions ranging from 30–45 minutes and receive concentrated instruction, moving from concepts to procedures. Students receive error-specific feedback, and their skills are automatically assessed at least once per session. Should they fail the skills-check, we provide a brief formative assessment to instantly diagnose needs and direct you, the teacher, to the correct remediation activity. Learn more >

Student InvestigationsStudent Investigation
With our Student Tools, students can construct their own understanding of fractions as they investigate problems and present their own solutions. Open-ended tools like the Unitizing Grid and Pattern Blocks allow students to explore divergent topics and build higher-order thinking skills. The Student Tools offer the opportunity to address different learning styles and configurations so that students can stretch their understanding to new heights.
