Formative Assessment. If the student passes an assessment or "Skills Check," they move forward without teacher involvement. If the student fails, student and teacher can quickly review the mistakes on the spot. Then the teacher can assign one a similar activity, a remediation activity (with more models and language support) or a pre-skill activity.
